The Wings of Albatross

The war veteran is ready to face the storm
He is away from his home
The miles ahead keep him strong
The dungeon gives him power
Those war memories pester his soul
The paranoia pricks him like thorns.

He wants to sing the redemption song
The scent of fuel, the dust around
The half moonshine beckons him
To ride through the storm

Memories come in abundance
He rides like a hurricane
He rides to meet the blazing fire
The highway looks like an empty battlefield
He escapes to kill the blizzard inside.

Between thunder and bliss
He finds his ecstasy
He gallops like a Horse
He swims like a shark
He crosses every milestone without a sigh
The ugly wind becomes zephyr
The hot sun elevates him

He kisses the storm
Conquers the mountains below
Rises from the ashes
to fly like an Albatross all over again…
